The Camp Ernst Fine Arts program had its debut in 2005. Campers are offered the opportunity to join a "club" during the week. Club choices often include exciting subjects like dance, camp newspaper, creative writing, and nature exploration. But the core Fine Arts areas, MUSIC, ART, and DRAMA are staples to the program.
In 2005, campers in the MUSIC clubs had the chance to discover that the best live audience is a camp audience: nearly 500 enthusiastic young people who will be supportive with loud cheers and clapping no matter what their past musical experience has been. DRAMA club members wrote and acted in films such as "Lakeview Movie Classics," "Zombies," and "The C.E."
These films were appropriately debuted in front of a wildly appreciative camp crowd of nearly 500. ART club participants sparked conversation among camp's neighbors when they painted 2 trees near our lakefront electric blue. These and many other projects will be part of our Fine Arts II program, coming in summer 2006.
Here is a movie trailer made by the Red Unit Drama Club during week 8 in 2005. It may take a few minutes to load, but it's worth the wait!
