ROPES
Challenge yourself to:
- Ring the bell at the top of the Climbing Wall.
- Zip more than 250-feet into the woods from our 30-foot Zipline tower.
- Trek across the Burma Bridge suspended over a pond
- Jump off the Airwalk platform and soar through the air in a giant loop.
-
Swing to the tops of the trees on our Giant Swing. All of Camp Ernst’s Ropes elements utilize helmets, harnesses, professional climbing ropes and caribiners.
HORSES
Our gentle herd of more than 25 horses is cared for year-round by Nancy Duell, our dedicated Stable Manager. Nancy has directed Camp Ernst’s Western Ranch program since 1988. She is assisted by a staff with a passion for horses and a love for children. All campers at Camp Ernst have the opportunity to ride a horse. For an additional $95, campers ages 9 - 15 can adopt a horse for a week and take daily trail rides. These “Ranch Campers” still have the opportunity to participate in all other programs.
FINE ARTS
Check out CETV (Camp Ernst Television) and see the movies you made at camp on YouTube. Campers are offered the opportunity to join a FINE ARTS CLUB during the week like our staple offerings: MUSIC, ART and MOVIES. Club choices also often include exciting subjects like dance, camp newspaper, creative writing and song writing.
LAKE
Camp Ernst Lake is a 26-acre, spring-fed, lake with hours and hours of fun docked and waiting for you including canoes, kayaks, aquacycles, the water trampoline, the blob, our 100-foot waterslide, banana boat and more.
MORE FUN!!
At Camp Ernst, days are filled with activities at the Ropes Course, Ranch, the Fine Arts and Lakefront, but that’s not all! Campers will also enjoy:
- Archery
- Nature
- Crafts
- BBs
- Sports
- Gaga
- Games
- Swimming
- Hiking
Early evenings bring choice activities such as a basketball tournament, “Clay Bunny” creek hike, or lanyard-making and tons of other cool activities led by Camp Ernst counselors.
Around 8:00pm, Units get together for the big Evening Program. These games include camp classics like Capture the Flag and Scavenger Hunt, plus wild Camp Ernst versions of Chaos, a game where campers roll the dice to determine whether their counselor must become a human ice cream sundae or a human hot dog!
Campers will also enjoy Clue, a wacky Camp ‘whodunit’ and Lost Battalion, a game where campers collect Camp Ernst cash from a few hidden staff members then run through a gauntlet of water.
